Henry County Fire Dept was founded in 1974 and was a combination department made up of career and volunteer firefighters. Fire, EMS and technical rescue services are provided by the fire dept.
HCFD has grown over the past 30 years, evolving into a career fire dept made up of 300+ career firefighters and 13 stations serving a 331 square mile area, and 193,000+ residents. Line personnel work 3 shifts, 24 hours per shift. HCFD currently answers over 18000 emergency calls annually.
HCFD currently operates 13 stations. From these stations there are: 12 Engines, 2 Ladders, 1 Quint, 2 Heavy Rescue Squads, 9 ALS Ambulances, 1 3000 Gal Tanker, 1 Brush Truck, 1 Dive Truck, and 1 Special Ops Truck. These stations are split into 2 Battalions. There are currently plans to construct 3 new stations over the next several years.

The mission of the Henry County Fire Department is to provide safe, professional service through education, prevention, emergency services, and community relations.
